In the Tantric tradition on which Anusara Yoga is based, everything we are – everything within and around us, is a manifestation of the dance between Shiva and Shakti, the god and the goddess. The unending energetic movement between polarities – positive and negative, male and female, light and dark – is the dance of life. And to truly experience that dance, we look for as many occasions as possible to return.
Lofty concepts indeed! How can we bring them down to earth and make them real? How can we enrich our lives and exploit our potential? Dance with the divine? We can call on the archetypes that embody certain qualities and embrace them.
In this, our 3rd Annual Fall Retreat, we invoke the power of Kali, Saraswati and Lakshmi, three goddesses with so much to teach us. Kali is super-condensed power, raw and fearsome beauty that roots us in steadiness and consistency. Saraswati is trembling, dynamic, and orderly, and she helps us to organize ourselves, to flow with eloquence and build on our most instinctive knowledge. Lakshmi is the goddess of space and time. Adorned and beautiful, we celebrate with her life’s resplendence – the full blossoming we gain in being aware, being a connoisseur of life. Men and women, beginners to advanced – all of us are students of these divine teachers.
